Westport Fuel Systems celebrates Autogas Day 2026
On 15 October, as part of Istanbul’s Liquid Gas Week, the global autogas sector will come together to celebrate the benefits of LPG for mobility
On 15 October 2026, as part of Liquid Gas Week – taking place in Istanbul from 12 to 16 October – Autogas Day will be celebrated: the international day dedicated to promoting and highlighting Autogas as a mobility solution.
The initiative was launched to celebrate the benefits of LPG for transport and to raise awareness amongst the general public, industry professionals and international stakeholders regarding the contribution that Autogas can make towards more accessible and sustainable mobility.
Today, over 27 million motorists worldwide use LPG in their vehicles. LPG is the third most widely used motor fuel globally and one of the most accessible alternative fuels, thanks to its widespread availability and the potential to keep running costs down.
Compared with traditional fuels, LPG helps to reduce emissions, with almost negligible levels of particulate matter and lower emissions of CO₂ and pollutants such as NOx. Its potential as a modern fuel for transport is also set to evolve further with the growing availability of LPG from renewable sources.
Bart van Aerle to speak at Autogas Day
Autogas Day will also provide an important opportunity for Westport Fuel Systems to contribute to the international debate on the future of LPG mobility.
Our CEO, Bart Van Aerle, will be among the speakers at the event, delivering a presentation on the global Autogas market, its key dynamics and concrete opportunities for growth in key markets.
Westport Fuel Systems’ participation forms part of the company’s presence at Liquid Gas Week 2026, one of the leading international events dedicated to the liquid gas sector.
A GLOBAL CELEBRATION
Autogas Day provides an opportunity for the entire international LPG supply chain to share knowledge, experiences and success stories, whilst raising awareness of the benefits of Autogas and the opportunities this technology continues to offer.
Westport Fuel Systems will play a leading role at Autogas Day 2026 in Istanbul, alongside its international network, to foster dialogue on the evolution of Autogas and its role in mobility today and tomorrow.
