Westport Fuel Systems Welcomes the Renewal of Incentives for LPG and Natural Gas Conversions in Italy

Westport Fuel Systems welcomes the renewal of the incentive program for converting passenger cars to LPG and natural gas. This measure confirms the commitment of Italian institutions to supporting concrete solutions for reducing emissions from the existing vehicle fleet and promoting an energy transition based on a technology-neutral approach.

The program, effective from June 26, 2026, to March 31, 2030, provides financial grants for converting M1 category vehicles (passenger cars) that are Euro 3 compliant or higher. This ensures continuity for an established initiative and offers a stable framework for motorists, installers, and industry stakeholders.

Retaining the operational procedures used in previous programs will allow for immediate implementation, ensuring the continuity of conversion activities and simplifying access to incentives for installations carried out from June 26, 2026, onwards.

For Westport Fuel Systems, the renewal of these incentives acknowledges the contribution that established technologies like LPG and natural gas can make to the decarbonization of mobility. These are mature, safe, and accessible solutions capable of delivering tangible environmental benefits and immediately supporting the reduction of emissions from the existing vehicle fleet.

The company reaffirms its commitment to fostering increasingly sustainable mobility based on the principle of technology neutrality and the promotion of all solutions capable of delivering concrete, sustainable, and accessible environmental benefits for citizens and businesses.
